Each service in this series focuses on a word to consider while living Lent as Easter people. Each service highlights the ways in which the passion narratives of Christ take on more significant meaning for us when we see them through the lens of the empty tomb. Each service helps us see that we are always alive in Christ, who died and was raised.
If you are unfamiliar with the season of Lent check out our post, What is our post?

Week 1 – Feb. 18th
PURPOSE, Luke 19:1-10
This season is a time to find God’s purpose for our lives, fulfilled in our redemption by Jesus, who seeks and saves the lost and gives us new life.
Week 2 – Feb. 25th
PEOPLE, John 10:14-18
We are called to be among people in this world. People matter to God; he sent Jesus to save them. People should matter to us; we are sent to love them.
Week 3 – March 4
PRAYER, Luke 22:14-23, 39-46
We watch as Jesus prays in anguish that this cup might pass from him, aware that God’s plan for him is glorious. We are called like Jesus to be people of prayer.
Week 4 – March 11
PRAISE, Psalm 34:1-10
Even in the midst of sorrow, we are called to celebrate the love of God and the joy that can be found only in Christ crucified, who reigns in glory now.
Week 5 – March 18
PROCLAIM, 1 Peter 2:9-10
To proclaim the story of Christ is to paint a picture of the God who seeks and embraces us. Our proclamation of the Savior brings faith to life.
Week 6 – March 25
PALMS, Luke 19:28-38
While we know the resurrection is on the horizon, we welcome with palms in our hands the King of glory, now humbly riding a donkey who comes as a fulfillment of God’s promises.
Good Friday – March 30
PASSION, Assorted readings
Pastor John Arnold will bring to life the last moments of Jesus Christ’s crucifixion by portraying a roman centurion present at Jesus’s death.
Easter Sunday – April 1
PARADISE, Luke 24:1-12
As Easter People, we rejoice in the end of the story: paradise is ours though the resurrection of Christ.
